The Iowa-born first-generation German received his BFA from Kansas City Art Institute, worked in licensed character development for a major San Francisco production company, and in newspaper graphics and design at the San Diego Tribune and Anchorage Daily News. He holds several awards from the Society of Newspaper Design, and the 2005 Los Angeles Society of Illustrators Show featured his artwork. Specialty subjects include animals, people, scenics, and food. Clients include World Wildlife Fund, Cirque de Solieil, Latitude, Jager di Paola Kemp, Sheaff Dorman Purins, Consumer Reports, Business News Publishing, Trico Sports, Pensare Design, Wunderman, The Clyde's Restaurant Group, Bridges Design, and HomeStreet Bank.
